Earlier, there used be hardly 5% girls in engineering classes. That ratio has drastically changed over the years. Fields like IT and Computer Science has seen a greater admission rate for women than men. Having said that, there are still a number of engineering fields which are largely dominated by men and have very less women in them. Mechanical and electrical engineering are the two major of them.
